Sending love and gratitude to the men in my life! These special guys that protect, support and champion the journey that I have literally dragged them on. Soooo....Fathers day was rather quiet. All the guys went for mid-day ice-cream and spent the rest of the day chilling. Fathers Day ice-cream is a standing tradition. We love traditions.
I spent time working on recipes for our future cleanse. I have also been incorporating seed rotation into our daily planning. Seed rotation is a really cool way to support your connection to the lunar cycle and that will support you hormonal system. Who doesn't need a little hormonal support.?!
We have just celebrated the Full Moon and that means we will be entering into the Luteal Phase. During this 14 day lunar phase we should take in 1 tablespoon of both Sunflower seeds and Sesame seeds. Working with seeds in this way I began to question, "How can I find ways to bring the seeds into my diet in a really beautiful way." BROCCOLI SUNFLOWER SEED PESTO!
Broccoli Sunflower Seed Pesto
Ingredients:
5 cups Broccoli florets
2 cups packed basil
1/2 cup grated parmesan or dairy free alternative
5 cloves garlic
3/4 cup Avocado oil
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
Dump all the ingredients into the food processor.
Process until smooth. Scrape the side as needed. You might need additional oil if it seems dry.
Store in fridge until needed. Add to soup, pasta, rice, on top of crackers, with eggs....go crazy!!
