Seed Cycling Power Balls - Color Coded!

This is one of the easiest Sadhana/practices to add to your monthly meal prepping.

One for Brian one for me!

We have been seed cycling for a while now. We both follow the lunar cycle and this was just a natural addition to our practices. It is a natural way of restoring hormonal balance. The seed hulls have lignans which will improve hormonal movement throughout the body. The oils in the seeds are full of essential fatty acids that are the foundation for steroid hormone production. The precursor to the entire hormonal process.


For those new to seed cycling start with determining when the Moon will be New and when it will be Full. I have an app on my phone.


Seed rotation can be followed with the cycle of your period; starting on day 1-14take a tablespoon each of flax & pumpkin seeds.

Day 15-28 take a tablespoon each of sesame seeds & sunflower seeds.

If your cycle is allover the place or if you have stopped menstruating follow the cycle of the moon, Either way this practice will help you to connect with the rhythms of nature. From the New Moon to the Full Moon - take a tablespoon each of flax and pumpkin seeds. From the Full Moon to the New Moon - take a tablespoon each of sesame and sunflower seeds.

Guys can practice this too. They just need to take the opposite rotation during the Moon cycle.

The seeds can be ground up and put in soup, salad, casserole, stir-fry or added to smoothies.


Making the Seed Cycling Power balls once a month is a practice that assures our successful ingestion of our required nutrients. In the morning we usually focus on super hydration while breaking our intermittent fasting - the power ball is a great option and full of protein.

The recipes below are very lightly sweetened feel free to increase the amount of dates or add a little maple syrup or other natural organic sweetener if you like. Making them different colors make it easy to recognize the one that you need.



Full Moon - Luteal Phase Cycling Balls

Take 1 ball per day starting on the Full Moon - for women

Take 1 ball per day starting on the New Moon - for Men

Ingredients:

7 Tablespoon raw sunflower seeds

7 Tablespoon raw sesame seeds

2 Tablespoon rolled oats

1 Tablespoon nut butter

2 teaspoon dragon fruit (extra vitamin C boost)- extra for dusting

1 Tablespoon coconut oil

1 cup frozen raspberries and/or strawberries


Directions:

Put oats, sesame seeds and sunflower seeds into food processor. Pulse until flour has formed

Add all the rest of the ingredients and process until it forms a sticky dough.

Scoop out a tablespoon of dough and roll between your palms until a ball forms.

Using a sifter - dust a little extra dragon fruit powder over the balls.

Place on a cookie sheet and pop in the freezer for 1 hour.

Transfer to a lidded container and store in the freezer.



New Moon - Follicular Phase Cycling Balls

Take 1 ball per day starting on the New Moon - for women

Take 1 ball per day starting on the Full Moon - for men

Ingredients:

7 Tablespoon raw pumpkin seeds

7 Tablespoon flax seeds

1 Tablespoon nut butter

4 pitted dates soaked and drained

1 Tablespoon coconut oil

2 Tablespoon rolled oats

1 Tablespoon matcha powder - extra for dusting

1 Tablespoon Almond milk


Directions:

Put oats, flax and pumpkin seeds in food processor. Pulse until a flour has formed.

Add the rest of the and pulse until it forms a sticky dough.

Scoop a tablespoon of dough and roll between your palms to form a ball.

Using a sifter - dust a little matcha over the balls.

Place on cookie sheet and pop into the freezer for 1 hour.

Transfer to a lidded container and store in the freezer.
